Independence Day: Resurgence — Feature Film (20th Century Fox)
Working client-side on Independence Day: Resurgence was an opportunity to collaborate directly with VFX Supervisor Volker Engel and Director Roland Emmerich on one of Hollywood’s most iconic sci-fi franchises.

I was part of a small, on-set team tasked with supporting the director through NCam real-time visuals — allowing him to see CG elements integrated into live-action shots during filming. This real-time feedback helped guide camera placement, framing, and performance direction for complex VFX sequences.

In addition to on-set visualization, I worked closely with the VFX editorial team to design and create shots when storyboards were not available. This involved contributing animation, layout, and generalist VFX work to develop sequences that aligned with both the director’s creative vision and the production’s technical requirements. Over the course of production, I worked on 30 shots, balancing creative storytelling with technical execution.

The project culminated in a visually ambitious sequel that maintained the large-scale spectacle of the original film. The official trailer alone has garnered over 29 million views on YouTube, reflecting the franchise’s global appeal and the audience’s anticipation.
