Mixed Reality Training Experience — Schizophrenia Awareness

This was one of the most meaningful projects I’ve worked on, blending immersive technology with real-world healthcare impact. Partnering with a healthcare agency and a leading pharmaceutical company, our goal was to create a Mixed Reality app that would help doctors better understand the lived experiences of patients with schizophrenia.

The app was designed to present multiple interactive scenarios, each simulating everyday challenges faced by someone managing the illness. I served as 3D Supervisor and Project Manager, overseeing the creative and technical execution while ensuring the experience felt authentic, engaging, and clinically relevant.

To meet an ambitious deadline, I assembled and managed a global team of artists located across Europe, North America, North Africa, and South America — enabling an almost 24/7 production cycle. This round-the-clock workflow allowed us to keep the project moving continuously, from asset creation to integration.

The first completed scenario placed the user in a subway navigation environment, where disorientation and sensory overload were recreated to mirror what a patient might feel. My role included guiding the visual direction, supervising 3D production, and ensuring smooth collaboration between regional teams.

The experience was later showcased at a major medical exhibition, where about 500 healthcare professionals had the opportunity to try it firsthand. Feedback from doctors underscored the value of immersive media in building empathy and improving patient care approaches.

This project proved how Mixed Reality can bridge the gap between clinical data and human experience — making complex, invisible conditions more tangible to those treating them.
